Product Description
These XCMG XE215DA excavators, manufactured in the mid-2017 era, were painted in a yellowish-gray color. After running for several thousand hours, they showed typical signs of fading due to sun exposure, which is a normal phenomenon. Engine started cold, followed by release of smoke from the stack, but no smoke unusual after 10 minutes or so, looked into the engine—hoses don’t appear to be leaking, no oil around the oil pump or the oil injectors, just, as usual, dust and dirt. Hydraulics are smooth, no jerks on the boom or stick on slower rates of rotation and the swing is tight with no hunting when the rotation comes to a halt which typically is an indicator that the center joint isn’t shot. All of the rollers are rolling, one has a little more tilt than others but not enough that it would necessarily be a big red flag that these were abused on demo runs or anything. The track frame’s solid, so there’s no bent or impact damage that would indicate that this thing was freely used on demo work.
All the glass is in place and there’s no sticking with either joysticks (which is pretty much the norm anyway) and the big window on the front has no scratches, cracks or other damage from rocks (also pretty rare). Wait, let me go back around and look at those cylinder seals again, yea, the boom pin area is dry, there’s no weeping on those rod seals, the chrome on those cylinders is not pitted or scored, so whoever had late entry in this job hadn’t been, jam doping the bucket into some things they didn’t want. When I was down there, I cleaned around the checked areas—the belly is dry, swing motor housing is a mixture of surface grease and dirt (no wet spots) and final drives are a mixture of grease and dirt (no drips).
