2018 Komatsu PC200 Crawler Excavator

When I arrived there the hood for the engine was already open so I immediately slipped under there—no oil or fuel filter changes that I see immediately, the STAL filter looked nice and clean, not brown crud like on neglected machines, no weeping around the bolt faces or hose connections on the hydraulic pump, which is good for this machine’s age. Well was expecting more dirt but all Credit to who has been running this place, fluids have been changed at least more recently.

85-90 percent of shoe life remains on all of these tracks, some of which are loaded with dried concrete and mud with the grouser bars in a decent state (no chewed down to nubs like some shoes I see). Multiple idlers and rollers have rust on their surface and this is a regular occurrence, No cracks or bent sections on the track frame were noted – twice walked under saying there was no oil, and there was not even a speck of wet dirt under the frame. Well let me look at my notes… yes, the swing bearing has no grease fling then so either it was just recently greased or it is in need… but there is no play when rocking the house, so probably ok for now. Final Drives appear to be tight – No wet spots on seals. Tension does appear to be correct, but not sagging.The bucket teeth show little wear, suggesting they were recently replaced. The chrome plating on the hydraulic cylinder piston rods of the boom and stick shows no wear. Proper routing of hoses, no cracks or exposing of rubber or wire. I was surprised by how clean all the things were for a rental unit, typically these get beaten up to the hilt, but on this one I assume it sat around a lot or that it had light duty work. No Smoking No Knoking No leaks, no play in pins.  Overall, I have absolutely no complaints about this Komatsu PC200.
