2008 Doosan DH220LC-7 Crawler Excavator

DH220LC-7 in among a dealer yard containing a number of iron mostly Cats and Hyundais. Although pad area has some good grouser depth, the idlers were greased up, and bottom rollers appear OK (no play that I could tell by kicking around under the machine). The tracks showed almost no wear, just a lot of mud.

Personally, I really like this Doosan excavator, so I spent more time inspecting it carefully.No leaks visible anywhere I could see – upperstructure and around the pump – especially around the red buttons. Of course came out from underneath twice to look at what looks like old dust and grime, nothing wet anywhere – that said, I was expecting to see something up there so not 100% clear, swing bearing looks to be greased, 4 hydraulic lines to the center joint – all have boots. Seals on cylinders appear to be in good shape, boom type cylinders (not straight legs) were fitted with one of those hard to see hose guards and what I could find was not weeping. Cab was wrapped in glass, was not allowed to see the inside as it was padlocked and a half, and just visiting the boot, still didn’t want to risk seeing the interior as it rained a lot of the time I was there lol, but seat was fine in itself through the glass, if there was rips I didn’t notice them. There are no cracks in Counterweight’s solid appearance. Paint’s holding up. Bucket’s normal dig bucket that has teeth – none fancy, but useful.It’s not like it’s not a museum piece, it’s definitely used with the “Machine”, but it looks okay for a LC-7. Now an hour meter won’t read since again the cab is locked, no one in the area had a key, typical dealer yard situation hence resolving the issue would take a long time since you’d have to wait until the next day as the guy is off elsewhere. Obviously, when Engine I wasn’t able to hear running. No manual missing from the seat sheath pocket – no big deal with this unit when it comes to use for running it, but thought I’d mention it anyway. As a whole this machine appears to be in working order, albeit not pristine; tracks could use some work in the near future, but other than that, things appear to be in order based on what I could physically get my hands dirty on or bequeath by sight. There were nothing in the car that would concern me and make me walk away, like frame [damage] or cylinder rod scoring that I observed, hydraulics not puking all over.
