2024 Doosan DX225LCA Crawler Excavator

This time, the machine being inspected is the Doosan DX225LCA large excavator.Machine fires up clean, no excessive smoke from the stack, hydraulics cycle smooth with no stuttering or delay when you hit the sticks. Boom and stick move predictable, bucket curls tight, no slop in the swing bearing that I could feel. Pins look tight, bushings aren’t screaming for replacement yet but they’re not new either, maybe another year or two depending on how hard someone runs it. After a thorough inspection of the engine, it was determined that there were no problems, no oil leaks, and no oil burning, indicating that it has been very well maintained.

Undercarriage is where you gotta pay attention on these—tracks are sitting around 5 to 10 percent, maybe a bit less on the inside edge where it wears faster, sprockets aren’t chewed up and the idler seals look dry, no fresh oil weeping out which is honestly the main thing I worry about on Doosans in this age range. Checked the final drives, wiped some mud off to see better, wait let me check the pump side again… yeah just old crud caked on there, nothing wet or fresh. Track frame has the usual dirt packed underneath but no cracks I could see, links have surface rust but that’s cosmetic, they’re not pitted deep or anything that’ll cause problems. Rubber pads are still mounted solid, haven’t started chunking off yet. Operator manual is missing from the seat pocket which is annoying but whatever.The paint job on the entire vehicle is very clean and clearly newly applied. The yellow paint looks very nice under sunlight, and there are no scratches or dents on the surface.Korean lettering on the back is still readable so it hasn’t been sandblasted off from rock work. Hydraulic hoses have the protective sleeves on them which is good, means someone cared enough to keep them from getting cut on rebar or sharp edges. No leaks around the cylinders, no chrome flaking on the rods. Machine digs fine. No play.
