Product Description
I saw this Komatsu PC240LC excavator in excellent condition at a large machinery site. Komatsu yellow is still in pretty good shape and although the car is dirty from the jobsite, there are no outstanding dents or cracks in the bodywork. The tracks are just below 60/70 which is fine for this size machine, there are rubber pads fitted so it must not have been doing heavy rock work and possibly more general excavation or utility work. All the normal mud pack is there underneath but nothing that really says “abuse” I walked around it twice and looked at the idlers and rollers as far as I can tell nothing appears to be wobbling.
There’s been some wear and tear on seat, but when I did some cycling checking, there was no loose joysticks or hydraulics. And boom and stick cylinders aren’t sweating on any rod seals… I mean, really dry, no seepage on any of the rod seals, and it’s a rental so these hoses should be all jacked up with routes and shit, and fittings are all tight with no weeping—wait let me take another walk down the road and recheck the valve bank area, all the hoses are factory routed, no janky repair work, no weeping anywhere on the fittings, just some dust caked on from sitting around. There was one engine compartment I couldn’t get into as they had it bolted to another line of engines and I don’t think there was any oil mist on everything that you get when the valve covers leak for that one that I saw. Starts cold. No smoke.Machine digs well. No grinding or hesitation (SILENT SWING) – an issue with this old LC that do not use grease during the winter, or a cooler first few winters of the vehicle will cause grinding. We have many pictures that ended up less than bright, because it rained continuously while I was there. There are no leaks under the machine, just very old stains which are in place for a long time.

Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.
