2016 Volvo EC140DL Crawler Excavator

I saw this Volvo EC140DL while browsing around the supplier’s premises. It wasn’t brand new, but it looked to be in pretty good condition, and immediately I popped the hood, this is where all the hided funnels are – volvo d4d four-cylinder is dry as a bone, no oil down the sides of the engine or anywhere around the valve cover gasket, both clamps were tight on the intake hose, and the wall of the hose showed no cracking, drip pann under the bay has a film of dust in it but no fresh oil pooled anywhere, I would believe any drip pan that has dust in it rather than the fresh clean bay that smells of solvent.

I test drove it for about 20 minutes, and the engine was in excellent condition. There was no resistance in the control arm or steering.Heavy surface oxidation has occurred at every point around the links and is what is typical of yard storage, you would want to physically inspect for cracks before sending this anywhere that you have loose rock. I didn’t find any. Rollers, seals and front idler hub are dry and track tension is good, upper run is not sagging. Then I went back and looked around the hydraulic pump bay and swing motor fittings—yeah, let me check my notes on that again… nothing was bubbling or cracking, and there were some hoses dripping with zinc here, a couple there, and all of the fittings were seated. No seep on any occasion and no spills to be found. The seat fabric was fairly worn out, floor mat is worn in the heel portion – somebody had been living in this thing – sunflower seed shells are strewn all over the floor between the armrests. Has no mechanical impact; however it is dirty. Both joysticks are good, both pilot controls are not over-wear, orange safety lock lever on the r console is installed. I could not see the back of the windshield for any cracks but the front has the cab guard on. There are no missing or broken bucket tips. Bucket teeth as is and looks like it was used for digging and not appear to be any kind of shell wear. Since it was not possible to see the serial number plate from my position, remove own serial number plate prior to taking action. The general condition of the machine is dry engine, dry hydraulics, half undercarriage and dirty cab (no mechanical issues yelling at you at all).
