2019 Komatsu PC450 Crawler Excavator

I used my cell light for a couple pics under the machine, walked around with this thing at about 4 pm today, as the sun was setting. It’s a standard boom setup with what appears to be a rock bucket, teething has been attended to though in a way which is absent from the LC version, PC450. The holding up ability of Paint has been pretty good, it’s black like they all are, and I saw no cracks in it. When I arrived the hydraulic cover was open, and I poked around—the hydraulic pump area appeared dry (let me consult my notes…yeah, the hydraulic pump area was dry, there was some dust caked on it, but this is to be expected after a machine is out in a yard like this for awhile, no fresh oil—when they start dripping all the money talk kicks in). The hoses are all aftermarket yellow and NOT original blue, but aren’t cracked or bulging, so some blanket jobber is not putting in cut-rate hoses there.

Rollers felt dry, I got down and ran my hand under a few, I didn’t see anything bearing up, seals were not leaking which on machine this size can be noted for every other roller was sweating (on PC400s and 450s). Final drives are the same story, the teeth on the sprocket may be worn but will not be sharp, so you are not going to have to replace them anytime soon. There’s no oils weeping out, so I think this has been doing a lot to ensure that that’s not the case. Swing bearing area was fine as well, although couldn’t get as great an angle as I would have liked, there was no visible seepage around the turntable.Can’t say anything about seat condition, or whether or not AC works or anything on the interior as it was locked up and nobody with them had the key to the interior to look, but glass is all intact and there is no cracks in the windshield. When I at last brought someone around to open the door there wasn’t an operator’s manual to be found in the door pocket. I’m being honest here, this machine looks good on the outside, it’s been worked but not abused, cylinder rods have been chrome and smooth, no pitting or scoring as would be on a machine that has been laying around or run by someone that hasn’t ran grease through them. Boom cylinders. Arm cylinder. Bucket cylinder. All clean. Didn’t notice smoke or noise this time as the engine was not running but the compartment itself does not have that “used up oil” look that is noticeable on older engines.
