2020 Komatsu PC160 Crawler Excavator

There are about 25 excavators parked in this area, but this small Komatsu PC160 excavator stands out. It is very clean and must have been carefully maintained by the staff. Engine bay first – my car was dry, no oil mist on the motor. Hoses are in good condition, no cracking in the rubber sleeve around the hydraulic lines and the main valve bank is clean yellow paint with no seepage around the valve connections – wait, let me check the pump area again… just some surface dust, no oil puddling around anywhere! Clean machine.

It’s almost unused, only like 5-10% wear on the shoes and very light surface rust on track links (just being out in the rain) no evidence of pitting or cracks, the teeth of the sprocket are still sharp, the idlers still spin smooth and the rollers are black painted. One of the beaded seat covers on Cab Interior is one that has been used for years and is kind-of funky and a little bit of red cloth draped over the controls is weird yet the actual Cab interior is clean with no mud all over the floor mat or glass intact.  During the inspection it was overcast and not ideal lighting to look out for paint chips but the body panels are good.Hydraulic system—this is where you see if a machine’s been abused—and the cylinders are clean with no scoring on the rod chrome, the hoses running up the boom are in good condition with no shredded protective wraps. No leaks. The Machine’s the common single bucket with no frills but straight, welds done to the factory standard. Again overall this unit looks like ‘low hours’, but it is dry where it should be dry and tight where it should be tight. Overall, this is an excavator in excellent condition.
