Product Description

Today I test-drove this Sumitomo SH480HD excavator, which was demonstrated and operated at a construction site. The operators reported that they frequently use this machine in foundation construction, which is quite evident.  The counter weight does appear to have gnarly rust coming out on the back end – its not structural at all, it’s just a paint over body that’s been sitting in the weather and has been neglected.

Cabin still has decent material that holds up to this day no rips, seat fabric, floor mat has the normal mud and crap but isn’t as dirty as other that I’ve seen where guys just live in that place. No cracks in any glass, no slop in any joysticks – feel good to cycle them. Boom pins do not have a loose fit. Quiet start-up.  Hydraulic hoses are old, some of the outside of the hoses have a surface crack in the rubber, but there is no bulging or leakage, you’ll need to plan on replacing hoses in the next year or two just in case you’ll need to get it fixed if a hose blows at a job and you are down for the day. I’m not quite sure what the total hours would be on this one since no hour meter shot was made and the display was off, and I didn’t want to artificially track the display if the person was not on-site at the time.  The Chinese railway company decal is still on the side, so it was most likely a fleet machine and did not likely have been babied. Runs fine though. No weird noises. When swinging a bearing, it should always feel smooth. I can’t say much more than Hydrotest, but if you walk around you see it’s not a doom and gloom status, just that a few dollars need to be thrown at the undercarriage and you’re on your way.

Picked up one 2025 CAT 320D2 for a highway expansion job we just won out in Texas. Was worried about the hours being rolled back because you see that everywhere now but our shop foreman plugged in the laptop and ECM matched the dash exactly. Good solid iron.

My guys have been running the Volvo EC210D we got off here for about 400 hours now. Zero downtime. The inspection report noted a slight weep on the bucket cylinder which I appreciated Equipment auditors on the machdealers platform telling me upfront. Repacked the cylinder for $150 and it's been making us money ever since.

Load a lot of containers for West Africa out of different ports. Best thing about machdealers platform is they get the export docs right the first time. Commercial invoice, packing list, title. No delays at Jebel Ali Port Customs. Bought 4 KOMATSU PC200-8 from them so far.

We run a basalt quarry site in Central Ethiopia, we needed a 36 ton heavy excavator that can run 24/7 loading rock. Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.

The shipment from korea to Uganda took a little over four weeks, slightly longer than I was initially told, but the platform sent me weekly photo updates showing the machine's location on the ship, so I never worried about losing money. The machine arrived in perfect condition, and the short wait was worthwhile. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

We found a Volvo EC240 excavator at a very good price for our new residential project. The seller even uploaded complete maintenance records from the previous owner, saving us the cost of hiring an independent inspector and flying in to check the machine's condition. This alone saved us over $800 in travel expenses.

I’m a one man show doing septic tanks and grading. Rented forever until I found a Kubota U35 here. Wth financing rates right now I needed a cash deal. Got a great price. Rubber tracks are almost new. Starts every morning no problem.
