2022 SANY SY135C Crawler Excavator

Today I test drove this excavator, a Sany 135C, at the site. I tried a cold start, and the engine started immediately; for a Sany Heavy Industry machine like this, starting smoothly without black smoke is a good sign. There were no unusual noises, and the engine showed no signs of oil leakage. All functions of the hydraulics tested; boom lift, stick curl, bucket breakout, swing left & right etc, all smooth and jerk-free, no cavitation noise from pump, sometimes the Chinese machines, that haven’t been used or the oil has run low. I extended all the boom and bucket (stick) rams, with no leaks at the rod seals visible – they were dry both when extended and retracted, same with the stick and bucket rams – just some dust and old dirt worked into them but not any fresh oil weeping out.

The rollers all seem dark but were free rolling, I didn’t feel any flat spots or seized bearings as I spun them by hand. There’s surface wear on Idler but again nothing that will prevent you from working tomorrow. While doing the inspection it was a little wet so it was easier to see fresh leaks which didn’t happen—in fact it was quite dry down there. I’ll have to look in my notes, but I did get under after and look at the swing motor/final drive seal and neither had any sign of any oil or oil dust around the bolts.In fact Cab’s pretty much brand new, comes right out of the boat with the factory clear plastic wrap on the seat and some red tags sticking out here and there of controls and upholstery; no cigarette burns, no cracks in the glass or tears in the upholstery; and the floor mat is clean. Engine compartment is clean with no previous repairs, valve block and all of hard lines are nice and clean, fittings all tight no mismatching of hoses. There were no bent radiator fins or a low level mark on the coolant reservoir and the coolant did not have any rusty areas. I have that embellish’ dragon sticker, it’s a little bit of a joke,  I know. This is in pretty good shape for a used SY135C, tracks do need to be cared for in the future, but will operate well until then, and the hydraulics are tight.
