I inspected this excavator on-site today, and the hour meter shows just 266.2 hours of use—a remarkably low figure for a Cat 323GC.The tracks are made of rubber, some guys hate them but these ones still have some good meat on them I’d say 80-85 % before replacement would be advised and the chunks are all in place and there are no cracks running down the middle of the pads, sprockets and idlers are good, undercarriage is pretty clean for a machine with anything on it, though I guess I should go and re-check the cylinders, yeah, boom and stick rods are still shiny there’s no scoring and nothing is weeping around the sealing boot, either someone pretty much babied this thing or its not really given much work.
Then there’s the interior: Cab, windshield smudged out, floor mat-the tan fabric type and again, no big deal, just looks like a functional car, cup holder, touch screen display-normal, was able to fire through the screen to test out the functions, the passcode screen came up which means that the owner had locked the car but he or she allowed me access to test things out. There are no busted switches, seat fabric isn’t ripped up, no cracks in the glass. I saw the metal clamp tags on the hoses under the hood and around the swing motor and no hoses are dry or cracked, no fittings are dripping or leaking, I ran my hand under a few of the fittings and was not able to get oil on my hand, engine bay has some dust and no oil pooled anywhere, no oils were dripping below the machine, and the concrete was damp so I could see if anything was marking the concrete. Tracks sit flat.Horse is a low hour machine that hasn’t been beaten, you will see a lot worse for twice the hours, as long as the price is right it’s worth checking it out, and unless it is important to you to have the bucket teeth fitted, give the floor mat a wash and the boom has no play in the pins, bucket falls smoothly, there is no engine rattle and no jerking of the bucket.

Picked up one 2025 CAT 320D2 for a highway expansion job we just won out in Texas. Was worried about the hours being rolled back because you see that everywhere now but our shop foreman plugged in the laptop and ECM matched the dash exactly. Good solid iron.

The inspection report noted a slight weep on the bucket cylinder which I appreciated Equipment auditors on the machdealers platform telling me upfront. Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.
