Around 5 p.m., I went over to check the equipment. Although it was getting dark, there was still enough light for me to inspect it and assess its condition. SANY SY235C – with isuzu engine – when I took off the cover it looks good no cracks, no crack weep anywhere near the base of the engine where it should be, hoses are all wrapped tight in the black rubber. Thought I had a leak in the hydraulics but the swing motor was dry too, went and checked my notes – yeah checked the main valve and control block, everything was painted that factory yellow and no darkening or wet spots.
All the rollers are rolling, and they’re spinning! There is no lossiness or “sloppiness” coming from tracks either, no more so than tensioners to keep them taut. This is a standard bucket that has 5 teeth (or bits) worn low, but not totally “shot”, the cutting edge is not even (just means that someone was digging but not trying to be “good on it” – there’s no cracks around the ears or on the bucket body. No leaks on bucket cylinder – boom and arm cylinders were the same, pins felt firm and didn’t see any play when I shook the stick. Apart from some cartoon sticker somebody rashly put on the side, paint is holding up fine, no big scrages on the counterweight that would indicate that it got backed into something, decals are all present. Red beacon on top works—well it’s there anyway – did not turn the machine on. Based on what I can see it hasn’t leaked, hasn’t come to any major issues, the tracks aren’t shot, engine bay appears cleaner than most of these a few hundred hours in. This machine is in excellent condition and is well worth getting.
