Product Description

This morning, before dawn, a salesperson from Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (America) Inc. called to inform me that a Caterpillar 345 in excellent condition had arrived. I rushed over and gave the machine a thorough inspection. tracks maybe 15% worn, I have used this cat machine for a few hundred hours, idlers seem to be fine, no wobble, counterweight pins seem to be dry (what you want to see on a cat). Opened up the hood and the valve cover was clean (no caked oil or carbon buildup), the exhaust doesn’t smoke on start, hydral system response is quick – no delays on boom lift or bucket curl – there is no leak in the cylinders – no weeping hoses – the hoses are newer than the rest of the machine which indicates someone’s been keeping up on them, the swing bearing was clean – no grease leakage out, center joint is dry, that was unexpected on a machine laying around in a yard for that long.

Upon arrival at the stage, I found the door open, no beaten up controls, the joysticks feel tight, pedals are not cracked, the glass was not broken, and there doesn’t seem to be any oil bleeding out underneath the frame, and the bolts on the track shoes all seem to be in place so it appears not to have been used on rocky ground to much. Teeth on Bucket not rounded off, but worn, protective sleeves on hydraulic lines have been left intact, no rubber cracks at boom and stick bases, and rear lights are mounted but not tested. Was cold this morning, had to wait a couple of seconds for the diesel to ‘catch’, but settled down into a even idle in the morning with no hunting or weird knocking from the pump. No grinding of the final drives, procket’s aren’t chewed up and tracks are smooth in both directions. Machine digs well. No play. If you’re taking a blind leap then this one is cleaner than the majority of the iron I’ve been seeing come through the yards, just some washing down the road with the possibility of a bucket change but mechanically has no nasty hidden bits.

Picked up one 2025 CAT 320D2 for a highway expansion job we just won out in Texas. Was worried about the hours being rolled back because you see that everywhere now but our shop foreman plugged in the laptop and ECM matched the dash exactly. Good solid iron.

My guys have been running the Volvo EC210D we got off here for about 400 hours now. Zero downtime. The inspection report noted a slight weep on the bucket cylinder which I appreciated Equipment auditors on the machdealers platform telling me upfront. Repacked the cylinder for $150 and it's been making us money ever since.

Load a lot of containers for West Africa out of different ports. Best thing about machdealers platform is they get the export docs right the first time. Commercial invoice, packing list, title. No delays at Jebel Ali Port Customs. Bought 4 KOMATSU PC200-8 from them so far.

We run a basalt quarry site in Central Ethiopia, we needed a 36 ton heavy excavator that can run 24/7 loading rock. Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.

The shipment from korea to Uganda took a little over four weeks, slightly longer than I was initially told, but the platform sent me weekly photo updates showing the machine's location on the ship, so I never worried about losing money. The machine arrived in perfect condition, and the short wait was worthwhile. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

We found a Volvo EC240 excavator at a very good price for our new residential project. The seller even uploaded complete maintenance records from the previous owner, saving us the cost of hiring an independent inspector and flying in to check the machine's condition. This alone saved us over $800 in travel expenses.

The team here truly understands the procurement process of construction companies—they won't bombard you with sales calls after you submit an inquiry, but will send you the specifications, prices, and inspection documents you require within an hour. 10/10, they will be our first choice for all future upgrades and replacements of our excavator fleet.
