Product Description
I inspected this CAT 340D2L excavator at the venue today. The tracks are practically brand new, which is quite good for a machine of this size. The grip is excellent, unlike most machines I’ve seen that are severely worn and have exposed metal. Undercarriage is pretty clean for used iron, as in idlers look tight, sprockets have normal wear, seriously not enough to make 10-15% wear on all of them, I didn’t get a call to check this one out for any reason at all. There is unscribed chrome on the hydraulic cylinders all the rods I could see on the boom and stick are dry, no weeping around seals, don’t think it ever did dirt or general excavation based on the wear on the bucket.
Checked under the swing motor area, the track drive housings, Hey, let me call up my notes here, No oil anywhere, ground under the machine was dry, even back yesterday we had a little rainfall and if this machine was leaking then I would see it. I’m not certain if it’s for style or not, but there was a little bit of red fabric on it all, but I peeled it back and the seat underneath it is still in good condition, standard controls are in a CAT joystick configuration and no parts are missing or broken. All Glass is clean and not cracked, Cab frame is solid and there is no bend metal or anything else that would indicate that this machine rolled over or was damaged the suggestion from all of these items is that this machine is in great condition and has not taken any hits.There is no leaning paint, counterweight doesn’t have cracks, boom and stick are not bent. Well, this used 340 LOOKS like decent shape which I’ve seen much worse in the same time frame. Not smoking. Tracks run straight. Seems like a “runner” if it cranks on and doesn’t knock, I’d call it normal service with perhaps a boiled edge and some pins for down the road, but nothing out of the ordinary sticking out like a sore thumb.

Picked up one 2025 CAT 320D2 for a highway expansion job we just won out in Texas. Was worried about the hours being rolled back because you see that everywhere now but our shop foreman plugged in the laptop and ECM matched the dash exactly. Good solid iron.

My guys have been running the Volvo EC210D we got off here for about 400 hours now. Zero downtime. The inspection report noted a slight weep on the bucket cylinder which I appreciated Equipment auditors on the machdealers platform telling me upfront. Repacked the cylinder for $150 and it's been making us money ever since.

Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.
