Product Description
The machine inspected this time is a Volvo EC290, an excavator in excellent condition. The engine compartment was checked first, as that’s the key area. Don’t get me wrong, the turquoise-colored engine block of this Volvo does have some rust, but that’s just a cosmetic issue.
Nothing cracked like there aren’t any scuffs at all on Counterweight. Boom cylinders and smooth extension no scoring on the rod that I could see and I think the pins were not sloppy – if I rock the stick back and forth. Bucket with basic digging set up. No worn away welds, and cutting edge is worn down but not completely off the bucket. Machine digs fine. No play.The lighting was not as good as I’ve hoped for it since it was overcast during my entire stay, but take the picture as is; it’s not a cream puff-souvenir, it’s a working machine that has been in the yard and gotten dirty due to doing actual work – this is evident as there are a row of Komatsu units behind it. When I arrived there, the panels of the engine compartment were already open so I’m assuming someone else has been in there at some point recently or maintenance work has been performed.

Picked up one 2025 CAT 320D2 for a highway expansion job we just won out in Texas. Was worried about the hours being rolled back because you see that everywhere now but our shop foreman plugged in the laptop and ECM matched the dash exactly. Good solid iron.

The inspection report noted a slight weep on the bucket cylinder which I appreciated Equipment auditors on the machdealers platform telling me upfront. Repacked the cylinder for $150 and it's been making us money ever since.

Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.
