Product Description
Today I drove this excavator to the supplier’s site for inspection. The EC300 heavy-duty engine is not common in older Volvo models. The engine compartment was clean, unlike most machines that are covered in mud and hydraulic mist; it looked like it had just been washed. Coolant reservoir is full, fuel filters are all the same shape & color as they are from the factory, they don’t appear to be stained brown so either the filters are recent or this machine has not been run down to the nth degree. Turbo housing can have some rust on its surface on the flange, this is to be expected as it has been exposed to the elements and is not indicative of structural corrosion, just cosmetic.
Corrosion on surfaces of rollers and idlers (no cracks appeared to me) and some teeth on sprockets are down, but not all the way. Everything is tight, I grabbed the linkage and gave it a very slight move around and no slop is felt. Today was a little bit muddy so I just don’t know that I would’ve gotten it as clean as I wanted to have but there does not appear to be any oil dripping off the belly of the locomotive or pooled underneath the track. Clean enough.The body panels are solid; there is no scratching on the counterweight; however, it was noted a couple of scratches on the counterweight. Bucket’s normal dirt configuration, not being worn out. In short, this machine is much better than most of the old, dilapidated machines parked in the yard, and if you happen to need this kind of excavator, you should grab it quickly.

Picked up one 2025 CAT 320D2 for a highway expansion job we just won out in Texas. Was worried about the hours being rolled back because you see that everywhere now but our shop foreman plugged in the laptop and ECM matched the dash exactly. Good solid iron.

The inspection report noted a slight weep on the bucket cylinder which I appreciated Equipment auditors on the machdealers platform telling me upfront. Repacked the cylinder for $150 and it's been making us money ever since.

Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.
