Product Description
We’ve come across another Komatsu PC240LC crawler excavator in excellent condition; excavators in this kind of shape are highly popular with buyers on the market. Rolled around and didn’t find much to fault, pins felt true and they did not feel any slop in the boom or stick cylinders while cycling.
I never kept up in the engine bay because that’s where all the money troubles lie—so I opened the hood and there’s a lot of dust but there’s no oil leaking out of the filter housing, but you can see some old oil on the filter, I think it was from being overfilled as I changed it a few months ago and I was not careful. Inspected hoses (hydraulic), placed spiral wrap protectors to them, no cracks or soft spots when squeezing them and fittings are tight with some white tape as marks around a handful of connections that were probably placed when they were serviced last. No bent fins or debris in there and both the radiator as well as the AC condenser is clean, so it’s not as if its been in demo work, it’s obviously been washed or something. Prefilter is clear on the fuel system, waited, let me look under the pump again… Yep just dust, no sign of any drips or no sign of anything wet anywhere. Pressure cap was clean and all fluid in sight glass was in good condition. The controls seem to be in regular Komatsu layout, nothing was obviously broken or missing that I noticed except the manual for the operation wasn’t in the door pocket where it should be. Fired it up with no smoke from the exhaust and pumped with no unusual noises out of the pump and relief valves. If you’re serious (and nothing’s hammered out yet), then you’ll need to measure the pins and bushings out.

Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.
