2019 SANY SY215H Crawler Excavator

This time we’re inspecting Sany Heavy Industry’s SY215H.Engine started up with no hesitation and engine settled into a smooth idle, after maybe 10 seconds. Hydraulics: have quick response, don’t lag on using the controls, boom lift good and good breakout force of the bucket curl (no indication of valve problem – stick extends smoothly without jerks or stuttering). Undercarriage was where I spent a lot of my time since that’s where you spend the money: Tracks are rubber and have been in use for a bit and there’s no grinding noises in the rollers, sprockets look equal, no cracks in track frame.

So interior cabin, it’s not nearly as unclean as I thought it would be for a used machine, seat has a bit of dirt on it but not any rips in the vinyl, controls aren’t sticky, glass is in tact too no cracks and monitor screen works and displays normal operating temps and pressures. On the counterweight some hooligan was responsible for a dragon decal – haha, it doesn’t influence anything mechanically, just funny. There is overspray of the paint on the sides and counterweight – it has a sort of jackhammer appearance as if someone painted right beside a painted machine and wasn’t very careful with the gun – there’s nothing the matter with it, it’s not rusting or any structural damage, it’s just ugly paint. No leaking or wetness in and around the boom and stick hydraulic cylinders, I touched my finger around the rod ends, my finger seems to come back dry unless it was old dust and dirt build up, I touched my finger around the housing on the swing motor and my finger came back dry (I thought I saw some oil around the housing, had a look again), there was no oil leaking from anywhere. The bucket is a normal dig bucket; The bucket it comes with is a standard digging bucket, but the shovel teeth are almost brand new. I had excellent sunlight during this inspection, to obtain good lighting under the machine. Machine digs well. No play. This may be a mid-size excavator which is still in operation and will be devoid of dripping this one ticks the boxes, except for tracks as well as pins down the road.
