2019 SANY SY550H Crawler Excavator

I inspected this SANY 550H in an open area during the day today, starting with the chassis and track shoes — walking shoes typically have 70-75% life on their shoes (haven’t rounded yet they still had definition on the lugs, track pins looked tight, no sign of wobble when rocking the shoes by hand, no instances of thumping or grinding on the carrier rollers). Track frame is dirty as one would expect and no crack along any welds (that I could find), idler looks fine. Most of the area below the machine is dry, and after going back and double-checking on the swivel joint base again, there is some oil between the center joint and its base but it has dried and is caked in dust, so I am not using the term “old seepage” if the oil is considered a fresh leak.

And most of mine was spent in the main paint compartment, which seems fine for the amount of hours that this thing has been running. There is some oil film on the tandem pump body, but nothing dripping, I put a white rag under the main fittings and was back 10 minutes later and the rag was clean. It’s yellow painted and tight, hose fittings look solid, and there is no weeping at the banjo fittings or pilot lines. The hydraulic cylinders are boom rod – none of my cylinder rods showed signs of any scoring, stick rod – same, bucket cylinder – some surface dirt, no evidence of oil banding around the chrome which indicate that the wiper seals have been removed from the cylinder, slewing ring bolts – all visible, ring – still has the caution sticker on it, which is the usual clue that no one has been lighting a torch in it, grease nipples – accessible. Nothing structural.As for its casing, it’s black vinyl, filthy and someone has been tinkering with this machine without cleaning up after themselves; the floor mat is full of dried mud and grime on the armrests/console surround, but switches and levers jut properly into their slots when I cycle them. No damage to door seals, no cracks on cab glass, good vehicle wiper on front glass screen is not in working mode (park). Ran the engine, no white smoke, no black smoke and idled it down smoothly, hydraulics were normal and reacted without hesitation or cavitation sound on the pump. This is a re-conditioned machine that has been used with re-conditioned machine wear. Tracks aren’t shot. New and fresh hydraulic solutions are not leaking.
