Product Description
This time, I inspected this XCMG XE550DK excavator at a construction site. The driver drove it to the edge of the site so I could do a detailed inspection. The Perkins motor sounds as clean when running at operating temperature; no knocking from the engine or funny valve sounds that make me suspect that I have internal wear. The shots that I got didn’t show the hour meter, but based on overall condition, I’d just assume that this unit had been exercised abit, but not to the point of beating it into submission.
May require seals on the swing motor in near future, but currently not leaking fluid. Hoses condition good, a few surface cracks around the boom cylinders, nothing split or bulging, boom cylinders are dry, fittings secure with a few wet but nothing expressively wet – it is in the elements of a machine this age to be a little wet is quite common. The pins are not sloppy, there is no hold up feel of the bucket curls and extends when the main control valve is cooked. Engine Cover is unpainted metal that may look like hell, but doesn’t affect anything mechanical. The weather was extremely windy during the inspection so that did not help.OH, it runs well and digs well, no smoke coming from the stack, the hydraulics are in good shape, you’ll need to get out some money to replace the swing motor seals, the tracks are half way through but in good shape, the cab just needs a pressure wash. If it’s priced correctly, it’s a working machine, so tomorrow you can be making money off of it, the beauty of it is, it is likely not showroom condition at that price, since it was used on job sites doing real projects.

Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.
