Product Description
This machine is a Hyundai HX220HD that I walked today, sitting outside in an apparent rental yard. It’s the red intake sock on there, so that means that at least one person has been careful about dust. Radiator fins are still in good shape, no bends or breakages caused by rocks throwing a demo machine around will normally mean it was never involved in any intense quarrying (or other application) duties. Hydraulics would be a good place to look- If these Hyundais sat idle for several months and then suddenly were fired up hard goes pump seals.
Black boom paint with some scratches and the usual scuffing on the counter weight – no cracks & welds I’d be concerned about load drops or someone doing a right job of caring their swing brake around. Every hydraulic hose on the machine is nearly black and the spiral wrap variety-all the hose points around the stick and bucket circuit are bone dry and have no chafing or cracking. No weeps. It’s a normal dirt bucket, it has 5 or 6 teeth remaining (depending on how the teeth are counted).When I arrived there the engine wasn’t running and because of that, I couldn’t tell if there was blow-by or if the engine smokes on start-up, which would make a difference when wiring money. However, it’s cosmetically and structurally looks like it gained some success and it wasn’t beat to death. The orange-red on the swing motor isn’t peeling, nor is the swing housing cracked. Pins are tight. Prior to grabbing and shaking, no stick slop in my hand.

The inspection report noted a slight weep on the bucket cylinder which I appreciated Equipment auditors on the machdealers platform telling me upfront. Repacked the cylinder for $150 and it's been making us money ever since.

That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.
