Product Description

This Kobelco 500XD with 5291 hours – which is not terrible – or not at least for a machine that has obviously seen a lot of action under muddy conditions! The engine bay is dusty but dry – no fresh oil coming out of the valve covers or pump housings – hydraulic hoses have a bit of yellowing on the outer rubber, but no cracks – oh wait that also applies to the swing motor area… yep all dry there too, just caked-on dirt from being in this muck. Fuel system and filter access okay, no staining of the filter underneath – pretty good, and ECO was averaging 11.7 litres per hour – not a great pig burner.

The inside of the cab is rather dirty, with some dust on the dashboard and armrests, although some of this may be due to wear and tear rather than mechanical faults, it is noticeable that the windows are smeared. When the operator cycled controls for me, they respond well – no grinding on any of the joysticks – and the digital running monitor is working well with all the parameters showing well although the screen is a bit dirty. Slightly worn seat fabric, filthy floor mat, and has dismal function (doing the job). One thing I noticed was that a single panel is missing in the top radiator grille, not critical but if they are working with a lot of flying rock (or demo material), that could allow debris to get in, which is easily remedied with a replacement panel. It’s the large one on these large Kobelcos and truthfully, all of those black hoses on the engine bay are still in place, there is no pool or stain on any engine mount and the travel motors are dirty but not wet, which means to me that the travel seals are taking and withstanding pressure. They have teeth on their buckets, but they have been rounded off as they have been excavating a hard surface, one or two would be able to be replaced in the near future if they are carrying out finish digging. In fact it was raining during a portion of the inspection making crawling under this miserable but I wanted to see if any new fluid was seeping in with the rain or not, and I’ve found no evidence of seepage.Mechanically this is a good working machine at 5291 hours, only the paint is faded and the entire machine needs a wash in fact, but this specific is NOT a museum piece, it’s not a project either.

Picked up one 2025 CAT 320D2 for a highway expansion job we just won out in Texas. Was worried about the hours being rolled back because you see that everywhere now but our shop foreman plugged in the laptop and ECM matched the dash exactly. Good solid iron.

My guys have been running the Volvo EC210D we got off here for about 400 hours now. Zero downtime. The inspection report noted a slight weep on the bucket cylinder which I appreciated Equipment auditors on the machdealers platform telling me upfront. Repacked the cylinder for $150 and it's been making us money ever since.

Load a lot of containers for West Africa out of different ports. Best thing about machdealers platform is they get the export docs right the first time. Commercial invoice, packing list, title. No delays at Jebel Ali Port Customs. Bought 4 KOMATSU PC200-8 from them so far.

We run a basalt quarry site in Central Ethiopia, we needed a 36 ton heavy excavator that can run 24/7 loading rock. Found a used KOMATSU PC 350 on here, after 3 weeks non stop continuous operation on site, engine temperature stayed normal all the time. That machine takes so much beating on our rocky ground, no issues at all. Exactly the tough workhorse we needed.

The shipment from korea to Uganda took a little over four weeks, slightly longer than I was initially told, but the platform sent me weekly photo updates showing the machine's location on the ship, so I never worried about losing money. The machine arrived in perfect condition, and the short wait was worthwhile. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

We found a Volvo EC240 excavator at a very good price for our new residential project. The seller even uploaded complete maintenance records from the previous owner, saving us the cost of hiring an independent inspector and flying in to check the machine's condition. This alone saved us over $800 in travel expenses.

The team here truly understands the procurement process of construction companies—they won't bombard you with sales calls after you submit an inquiry, but will send you the specifications, prices, and inspection documents you require within an hour. 10/10, they will be our first choice for all future upgrades and replacements of our excavator fleet.
