2020 LiuGong 936E Crawler Excavator

Today I drove this excavator to a muddy area near a quarry. It’s a LiuGong 936E excavator, and the working time displayed is 6237 hours. Here is there yuchai engine, no smoke from the stack, NOT pushed-in radiator fins and the hydraulic pump is that red aftermarket type pump but the area around the hydraulic fittings is bone dry. All hoses are the reinforced variety, there was not any kind of cracking or weeping, and I even got down there with a flashlight and there was no clunking from the swing bearing when revolving the house.I was very surprised by the level of maintenance this excavator had; there was almost no damage to the exterior, and the cab was spotless. After all, this excavator had already worked for over 6,000 hours, and it was clearly very well cared for.

No seized rollers – all spin freely. Idlers are fine. There was a lot of mud over everything under there and if that is not the case two things are going on: it’s been working and not just sitting in there;  It was definitely rough as in stained and pilling seat fabric and all the floor mats were dirty with mud smeared everywhere, glass is so dusty you can barely see out of it but it’s cosmetic stuff, there still was no lag whatsoever in the controls as I cycled through the menus, and joysticks responded tight. Oh, let me look at the specs again… the counter weight itself had the China Communications Construction decals on it and this was most likely some kind of road crew.Two twenty-minute lengths were later, it was re-inspected for leaks under the pump area and found dry, no new oil under the engine and no score found on the cylinder rods. It was very cloudy for an inspection; the lighting in some places was poor but was sufficient to see what was required. No chattering noise from swing motor, and no metal shavings in the hydraulic tank sight glass. No knock and/or rattles at idle.
